The Porcine Pardon: Hog Named 6-7 Granted Clemency by Miami-Dade Leader.

While perhaps not at the same level as pardoning holiday birds, but the county's top official experienced a Donald Trump moment this week by ceremoniously saving the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. She is worthy of this pardon. She has committed zero crimes,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with inescapable allusions to the vast quantity of pardons issued since the onset of a current administration.

“If we disregard eating half a dozen apples per day,” the mayor added. “Let this swine have a lengthy and joyful existence free from concern.”

The event, which both honors and questions the region’s Hispanic tradition of feasting on pork during the holidays, was established to replicate the annual turkey pardoning at the White House.

The swine, contributed by a first responder, was named for the popular vernacular phrase of young people exclaiming “six seven” – originating from a rap song lyric – often without clear purpose. The craze became so pervasive that a major dictionary recently made “six-seven” its annual vocabulary selection.

A Peaceful Retirement

Six Seven the pig is now destined to live out its days at a countryside refuge “distant from barbecues and spits”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“This swine clemency has become a cherished method to kick off the holiday season,” said Eric Castellanos, in a notably cheerful message.

“It embodies the character of Miami: happy, multicultural, and rooted in traditions that foster togetherness. Each year, we are delighted to mark tradition and kindness in a way only Miami can.”

Participants enjoyed a vegetarian menu of croquettes and strong coffee as they celebrated the pig's pardon.
