Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
